There's other ways to build digital engagement without defaulting to an expensive App. That said though, they're not to ignore, and there's things you just can't do without them.
We've pitched and won on games, films, skin tone, roaring crowds and more. So yes. We build apps.
Unfortunately they still exist, and even worse there's a big market for Digital Display.
We've built every possible type of digital display banner you could imagine over the years, starting in 1999 until only just yesterday. This basically means that you'd be very hard pressed to find anyone in Australia, or the world even, who has a level more of experience in conceptual development, creative strategy, in-unit engagement, building, publishing and reporting of digital display creative aka 'banners'.
We're not proud of it, because there's always a better way to spend your budget than for a .02% avg CTR (although we'd get you double that at least, or your money back). So if you must, we can, and will do an incredible job in any area of the rollout, but we may also try to to talk you out of it first.
The following are Flash versions, worth a look if you've got the plug in installed.
Onya, well done, conrgats, big ups.
Remember 4Square? The original check-in app? Back in the day, like 2011? When iiNet usurped most of the rest in DSL provider stakes they wanted to celebrate being second best to Telstra.
We were charged with a few of the regular things digital, and we did one better as well.
By using a clever APi call to twitter we sent out a congratulations to anyone that was ousted as the Foursquare Mayor in the many, many places Australia wide, to say a big 'well done' for being number 2 - like us!
Thousands of second-besters said thanks to iiNet in kind for the wonderful gesture of support.
We do all of this and we especially enjoy inventing within the space between the expected, technology, and the unexpected. Like this project. And, if you think this is cool, take a look at our BannerAid below, or ask about the Bannerator, Twignature, FitMe (below also), Snowsense or even EverySecond.
It was 2010, beige was in.
We build a free one time use app that enabled Maybelline customers to match their skin tone to the just launched range of FitMe foundations.
You'd take a pic of your face, choose 3 points the match skin tone from, and presto.
We built a web page with which banner ads could be uploaded into, and then returned with a new layer and corner interaction enabling a community service call for donations.
The tool was simple, fast and available to anyone, anywhere to use for free. All that was needed then was to replace the display media with this 'improved' version, and then push live to display an extra layer of meaningfulness in the mundane.
We did quite well awards wise for this one, locally and globally.
All too often pre-allocation of spend dictates what's easy and what's not when it comes what we can, should or don't do within a comms mix. Clever ideas don't always need the big budgets, they just require the clever people to see the opportunity and the preparedness to get them over the line.
